Terms of Service
Effective and last updated July 29, 2026.
Click & Record is a free Chrome extension and companion website. These terms are short because the product is simple: there's no account, no subscription, and nothing of yours on a server we run. Using the extension or this site means you agree to the following.
In short
- Cost
- Free. No paid tier, no trial, no credit card.
- Account
- Not required to use the extension or editor.
- Your recordings
- Belong to you. We never receive a copy.
- Warranty
- None. Provided as-is, see below.
- Data handling
- Covered separately in the Privacy Policy.
License to use the extension
We grant you a personal, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Click & Record for its intended purpose: recording, editing, and exporting your own screen recordings. You may not resell, sublicense, or redistribute the extension itself, reverse-engineer it to build a competing product, or use it to violate any law.
Acceptable use
You're responsible for what you record. Don't use Click & Record to capture or distribute anything you don't have the right to capture — other people's private information, copyrighted material you don't own, or content that violates someone else's rights. You're also responsible for complying with wiretapping, consent-to-record, and privacy laws that apply where you and the people you record are located.
Your recordings belong to you
Everything Click & Record produces — the video, subtitles, click data, and any exported file — is yours. We claim no rights over it, and as explained in the Privacy Policy, we never receive a copy in the first place: recording, editing, transcription, and export all happen on your device.
Third-party services
If you choose to use Save to Drive, that upload is governed by Google's own terms and privacy policy once the file leaves your browser — we're not a party to that transfer beyond initiating it at your request. Click & Record itself has no other integrations with external services.
No warranty
Click & Record is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't guarantee the extension will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that recordings, exports, or transcriptions will always come out exactly as expected — this is free software maintained by a small team, not a service with an uptime commitment.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Click & Record and its maintainers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the extension or website — including lost recordings, lost time, or lost business — even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Your use of Click & Record is at your own risk.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Click & Record after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you don't agree with a change, the remedy is to stop using the extension and remove it.
